Priorities for Survival

Natural disasters are mostly caused by wind, heat, cold, water, or fire. Each type of emergency requires different precautions and different actions during the event. But, no matter what the emergency, there are three things that you will always need to survive.

  • First Aid - the first requirement is treating of injuries.
  • Water - to sustain life, water is most critical.
  • Food - if you need to survive on your own more than 3 days, you must have food.

Your most basic plan no matter where you live must include first aid, water, and food. Learn how to organize your resources on the Basic Advice page.
